Home News/Articles Dr. Kiran Bedi to Visit IIBS Bangalore on 1 August 2026

Some occasions conclude a programme. A few begin a new way of thinking.

On 1 August 2026, the Management Orientation Month of the PGDM Cohort 2026–28 will conclude with an inspiring encounter with courage, discipline, innovation and leadership. IIBS Bengaluru is honoured to welcome Dr. Kiran Bedi as the Chief Guest for the valedictory ceremony at the Airport Campus.

The event will bring together a distinguished combination of public leadership, industry expertise, technological vision and academic excellence. It will offer emerging managers an opportunity to hear real experiences, understand responsible decision-making and discover how values can shape successful leadership.

India’s first woman IPS officer, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, former Civilian Police Adviser to the United Nations and author of Fearless Governance, Dr. Kiran Bedi has built an extraordinary legacy through public service, institutional reform and fearless action.

Her professional journey represents integrity, discipline, courage, accountability and transformative leadership. Every responsibility she has undertaken carries an important lesson for young managers: leadership begins with character, grows through action and earns respect through responsibility.

The opportunity to meet, listen to and interact with Dr. Kiran Bedi will allow students to experience leadership beyond textbooks. Her insights will encourage them to think independently, take ownership of their decisions and remain committed to their values while facing professional challenges.

The ceremony will be held under the guidance of Dr. Jay Prakash, Founder and Chairman of the IIBS Group of Institutions, who will grace the occasion as the Chief Patron.

Dr. Jay Prakash’s vision has guided IIBS in creating a management learning environment connected with industry, innovation and career readiness. His presence will reinforce the institution’s commitment to preparing responsible professionals who can contribute meaningfully to organisations and society.

The valedictory programme will also feature accomplished industry and technology leaders who will bring contemporary business knowledge and entrepreneurial perspectives to the platform.

Mr. Jeevanandam Kumerasadasan, National Category Head at BigBasket, will share valuable perspectives from the rapidly evolving corporate and consumer business environment. His experience will help students understand category leadership, market responsiveness, business operations, and the importance of customer-focused decision-making.

Mr. Uppathi Sai Sreekar, Founder and CEO of SmartED and Sophyra AI, will bring the perspective of technology, entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence. His participation will introduce students to the role of innovation, digital transformation and forward-thinking leadership in building future-ready organisations.

The presence of Dr. Kiran Bedi, distinguished industry professionals, technology entrepreneurs and the IIBS leadership team will make the ceremony a powerful learning platform for the PGDM Cohort 2026–28.

The event will connect students with four important dimensions of modern management: courageous leadership, practical industry knowledge, technological innovation and academic vision. These perspectives will help students understand that successful management careers require more than academic qualifications. They demand confidence, adaptability, ethical judgment, communication and the ability to lead people responsibly.

The ceremony also marks the successful completion of the Management Orientation Month, an intensive programme designed to prepare students for the academic, professional and personal demands of management education.

During the month, students participated in academic sessions, corporate interactions, leadership activities, communication programmes, team-building exercises and experiential learning initiatives. Each experience encouraged them to step beyond their comfort zones, collaborate with others and develop greater confidence.

The programme introduced students to the discipline of management learning while strengthening essential qualities such as teamwork, accountability, problem-solving and professional conduct. It created a strong foundation for the two-year PGDM journey ahead.

The valedictory ceremony therefore represents more than the conclusion of an orientation programme. It marks the moment when preparation turns into purpose and learning begins to develop into leadership.

One month has prepared the students for management education. The experiences, values and lessons gained during this period will now guide them throughout their academic journey and future careers.

A month of orientation concludes. A lifelong journey of leadership begins.
