Embark on an Enriching Singapore-Malaysia International Tour
In a testament to IIBS Bangalore's commitment to providing holistic education and global exposure, a group of 47 students, accompanied by two faculty members, embarked on a transformative 6-day journey to Singapore and Malaysia on June 13th, 2024. The international tour was designed to offer our management students a rich blend of cultural exploration, educational insights, and industrial exposure.
Exploring the Cultural and Educational Landscape of Singapore
Our journey began with an early arrival in Singapore on June 14th, 2024, at 5 AM. The excitement was palpable as we set out to explore the vibrant city. The first two days in Singapore were filled with educational and cultural experiences.
Cultural Exchange at Capital College of Arts and Management
One of the highlights was our visit to the Capital College of Arts and Management. This cultural exchange session provided our students with an in-depth understanding of Singaporean culture, education, and lifestyle. It was a unique opportunity to engage with local students and faculty, fostering a spirit of international camaraderie and learning.
Iconic Landmarks and Industrial Exposure
Our exploration of Singapore included visits to iconic landmarks such as Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, and Clarke Quay. Each site offered a glimpse into the city's architectural brilliance and vibrant culture. A visit to the Mustafa Shopping Centre allowed us to experience the diverse retail landscape of Singapore.
On June 15th, 2024, we delved into Singapore's industrial advancements with a visit to the NEWater Visitor Centre. Here, We learned about the city's innovative water purification and conservation methods, highlighting Singapore's commitment to sustainability. The day also included visits to Little India and Chinatown, where we immersed ourselves in the rich cultural tapestry of these neighbourhoods.
Journey to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Our adventure continued as we travelled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on June 16th, 2024. The scenic road trip added to the excitement and anticipation of discovering a new country.
Discovering Kuala Lumpur's Wonders
In Kuala Lumpur, we explored Pavilion Street, a bustling hub of shopping and dining. The Batu Caves, with their stunning limestone formations and impressive temple, left us in awe. Our visit to Genting Highlands included a thrilling cable car ride, indoor adventure rides, and a visit to the famous casino, providing a mix of excitement and relaxation.
Educational and Industrial Visits in Malaysia
June 18th, 2024, was dedicated to educational and industrial exposure. At Peninsula College, we attended a seminar on Malaysian culture and industry trends, gaining valuable insights into the country's economic and cultural landscape. The Royal Selangor Pewter Factory visit showcased the craftsmanship and heritage of pewter-making, offering a hands-on industrial experience.
Immersing in Malaysian Culture
Our day concluded with visits to the Petronas Twin Towers and Istana Negara Palace. These iconic landmarks not only showcased Malaysia's architectural splendour but also provided us with a deeper understanding of the nation's history and culture.
On June 19th, 2024, our journey concluded with a city tour of Kuala Lumpur and a heartfelt departure. The memories and experiences gathered during this trip are sure to leave a lasting impact on our student's academic and personal growth.
